Creating almost tangible light, life and
depth on a flat white canvas I find infinitely
fascinating.
My chosen medium is oil paint, applied
liberally with palette knives. I love the
texture they create and the way it
sometimes feels I am molding with colored
clay as much as painting.
I generally work wet on wet paint, completing each section of a painting in a single sitting. I find
this keeps the knife marks fresh and unhindered by rough hardened paint layers below and keeps
the painting from looking overworked.
I find inspiration all around me, the world is full of beauty and drama and I try to capture each
moment with freshness and sincerity.
